Contemporary Cabinet on Stand
This cabinet was designed around the book-matched spalted maple panels, the live edge in one corner became the negative space in the doors. This is a good example of how I like to incorporate natural features of the wood in my designs. The front of the cabinet has a subtle concave curve to it. The base is locally harvested hop hornbeam. The case exterior and stand has a tung oil finish, the spalted panels and interior have a polish finish.
Cabinet case: Laotian Padauk, spalted curly maple, hop hornbeam pulls, Swiss pearwood, curly maple, kingwood.
Stand: Hop hornbeam.
